Brief reviews of the 1s:
Batman Begins: Nice redemption of the franchise (even if I really did like the other ones).
Brokeback Mountain: Good film, excellent adaptation of the short story, not necessarily worth all the hype.
Capote: Compelling, but a bit slow at times.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: Depp's druggie Willie Wonka is far superior to Wilder's childmolesterr Willie Wonka.
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe: Hate the books, love the movie.
Crash: Powerful movie about racism, very well edited.
Good Night, and Good Luck: Probably my favorite movie of the year.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire: Good synthesis of the elements I liked from the Columbos (who I generally didn't like) and Cuaron (who I loved) iterations of the franchise.
Memoirs of a Geisha: Aesthetically beautiful.
Munich: Graphically violent. To the extreme. Color me curled into the fetal position through the entire movie.
Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith: Thank goodness that's finally over.
Tim Burton's Corpse Bride: Not his best work.
Transamerica: Felicity Huffman is brilliant.
Walk the Line: As Lisa Schwarzbaum states in this week's Entertainment Weekly, "Witherspoon . . . creates a June Carter so vivacious that she convinced me that Walk the Line is about the woman behind the man behind the legend--not the legend himself." Aside from that, if this film weren't a biopic, then it would be amazingly boring with no real plot.

Hey, remember when I saw a movie without you and I got scolded? There is a movie that I want to see, that you are going to be watching in the very near future... in mere hours it seems. But, don't feel obligated to invite me or anything. ;)

*sigh* I changed my mind because, well, everyone says it's not that violent and I can handle it. And besides, if it's the dark horse in the best picture race and it actually wins, I'll be really, really pissed.
