Absent-Minded Secretary Day, October 25th

Absent-Minded Secretary Day

I've known Absent for about five years now. We met in my last BYU ward, but we really became close friends when I moved to New York. (Isn't it amazing what you can do with the internet?) But Absent has been there for a lot for me, which I've truly appreciated. I mean, who else shows up at your doorstep with Lettuce Wraps and Southwest Eggrolls from Chili's-to-Go?

So how should you celebrate Absent-Minded Secretary Day? For starters, you should wish her a happy birthday. Especially since without her, you wouldn't know that you picked all the apples on Johnny Appleseed's Birthday.

If you're looking for a home decorating item, you might look for something with a frog motif. She likes frogs.

You can't go wrong with books. Well, I imagine you could go wrong, but that would take some work. If you're thinking poetry, Dorothy Parker is who you want to get.

Apparently, she would also like a reenactment of the Battle of Agincourt.

That said, go out and honor Absent-Minded Secretary Day. If not, the result will be the same as if you had plagiarized a paper in my English 115 or 311 classes.*

* I always told my students that I wasn't worried about them plagiarizing their papers because it was their choice to go to Hell, so in the end it wouldn't matter if I did or didn't catch them. Oh, the joy of "swearing" in a BYU classroom. On the first day.

Wohoo! Thank you Edgy for the wonderful birthday blog! You have been there a whole lot for me too, which I appreciate more than I can express. Who else would listen to my end-of-work-day-or-dumped-before-the-blind-date-rants with such a kind ear. Love you tons!
