in the beginning

So it would seem that it's been quite some time since I've posted. I know you've missed me. At least I'm going to claim that you've missed me.

But now we're in a new month and a new year. And the last month of the last year was so eventful. I should write about it some time. Because there's intrigue and love and hate and stress and happiness and all sorts of stuffs. But not today.

Today, I announce the beginning of Edgy's book club. This is an idea I'm taking from someone on a different board, but I think it's important, so I'm implementing it here.

Seeing as how the title for the final volume in the Harry Potter series has been announced, we can only surmise that the book will be released this year (and many are speculating July 7, though that doesn't feel right to me considering that it's not Harry's birthday).

So Edgy's book club will honor Harry Potter and prepare us all to read the final volume.

Here's how it will work. Each month, we will read one Harry Potter book. That means we'll all be refreshed for the anticipated release of book seven. Toward the end of each month, there will be some kind of discussion generated about themes, writing, blah blah blah. You know, standard book club fare.

And, because I think it's important that we all read Harry together, I promise not to mock anyone for reading the Harry Potter books on audio. (The exception I make to this is Fobby, but only because he hasn't actually read the books yet since he listened to them for his first reading of them last year.)

More Harry posts to follow . . .

I did indeed miss you. However, I'm not sure I'll have time for HP until along abouts April, at which time I'll frantically attempt to catch up with the book club (assuming I remember). Please forgive me for being a party pooper.

I can't promise I'll have time to read them again, but I'll check the Cliff's Notes each month so I'm ready for the discussion. Do you suppose they make audio versions of Cliff's Notes?

Does Cliff's Notes do Harry Potter? I'm even more impressed by the trendiness now. ;)

Loving the Harry Potter idea. Though I adore reading, the HP books are one series I will always also listen to on audiobook, as Steven Fry does such a wonderful job. That other guy's version reeks in comparison.

Hoo. I don't know. I was planning on rereading the last hundred pages or so of Book Six, but all of them?

I will participate and skim along, though--I promise you that much.
